Oh my dear Lord,
I can remember being the age of nine years...
Watching Lilias Folan's wonderful PBS program,
"Lilias' Yoga and You" for the first times
in the living room of my mother's house
out on Long Island in Center Moriches.
Sitting or following the poses eagerly,
in front of one of those old vintage
black and white television sets,
while beautiful Lilias demonstrated all the yogic asanas
speaking with a song-like calm and quiet voice.
At the beginning and end of each program,
She would return to the delicate stillness of meditation,
surrounded by peace and quiet as the light dimmed
all around her.
I give my deepest thanks, gratitude and love to this great
early teacher, for first showing the divine teachings of
purification by Yoga or union, conveying purity of being
to the perfect, stainless inner self!
All respect to the devine mother of us all
who guides us, protects us, and gives us our lives!
The world is blessed by the shining spirit
of all Womankind!
